Review: NYX Brow Powder Kit

YES!  AMAZING DRUGSTORE FINDS AHEAD!  DSC_0183 Recently I died my hair. Hence why I needed a new brow kit. Let’s be honest, brow powders last forever! I got one about two years ago from Nordstrom Rack, the urban decay powder duo. I used that pretty religiously and only saw pan on it recently. However, the tones are medium brown. I went RED! Well, purple/red, plum, however you want to describe it. So with a different hair color, I was thinking that my brows just looked odd. I thought maybe an auburn powder would help match the red tones in my new hair color.

DSC_0184Step 1: Purchase. Any excuse to go to the drugstore, am I right? I popped into my local Walgreens and picked up the NYX Brow Powder kit in Auburn.   It was about $6, not bad at all! And, I like the packaging.  Keeps the brushes all in one place and is pretty compact, at least compared to the Urban Decay Brow Box.

DSC_0187Step 2: Apply! The kit comes with an angled brush to apply and a comb to blend it out. The brush is ok…was a little wide for me. I prefer to use the brush from the Urban Decay kit (the purple one) to apply the powder and then use the NYX brush to set with the wax (after combing out with comb). What’s nice is that all the brushes fit perfectly!

So overall, I was pleased with this decision. The auburn brow powder color did exactly what I was hoping and matches the red tones in my new hair. And the brow kit? How did I not know about this sooner? This stuff is the bomb!

Until next time, plant nothing but love.
